Meet The Designers - Tony Chi & Thierry Despont

Tony Chi and Thierry Despont's vision when designing The Carlyle,was to create an elegant and sophisticated space that would embody the classic New York style while incorporating modern amenities and technology. They aimed to preserve the building's historic character and evoke a sense of timeless luxury and glamor, while also making it a comfortable and inviting place for guests to stay.

The designers sought to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that would reflect the hotel's rich history, while also offering all the modern conveniences that guests have come to expect from a luxury hotel.

Tony Chi is a New York-based designer known for his work in hospitality and high-end residential design. He founded Tony Chi and Associates, an interior design firm that has completed projects across the world. His designs are often inspired by the cultural and historical context of the location and aim to create a sense of place and comfort.

Thierry Despont is a Swiss-French architect and interior designer. He has designed a wide range of projects, including private residences, hotels, museums, and commercial spaces. Despont is known for his attention to detail and his ability to blend classical and contemporary styles in his designs.

Both Tony Chi and Thierry Despont have a reputation for creating luxurious, sophisticated spaces that balance form and function.
