COOL AD CAMPAIGNS: CURATED BY Living 360

Everywhere we go, everywhere we look, we are inundated with messages!

Nowadays we don’t even have to think too hard about things but rather sit on the comfy sofa and literally be told how to live our lives.

From what’s cool this season, what to eat, where to shop, what airlines to fly and how to find the perfect date and what car to drive – practically every facet of our lives is taken care of.

That my good friends is the power of advertising.

A powerful advertisement subconsciously tells us we need something even before we think we do. It offers solutions to problems we didn’t even realise we had. It offers us a glimpse into the ideal world we are told we want to live in. Genius really!

Here’s a simple but powerful homage to those amazing advertisements that have achieved all of the above (and more) – carefully curated by us for you all to enjoy.

We start off with the clever folks from IBM with their “People for Smart Cities Program” campaign.

IBM Smarter Planet

“Calling all doers, thinkers, problem solvers, creators and dreamers. Your city is on a mission to get smarter. Help it.” IBM

The smart cookies at IBM came up with the idea of bending shapes like this all over London & Paris with the aim of enhancing people’s lives. A board bends to become a bench, a rain shelter or a ramp over stairs.

People all over town are sitting up and taking attention to this very clever campaign.

It’s hard not to think of ACCESS Agency as cutting edge and downright cool when thinking of the world’s best ad and creative campaigns. This agency has collaborated with some of the best brands in the world and here is a snap shot of their work:

McFancy Campaign

“For McDonald’s, we envision a cool, surprising and fun mix of concepts. First is McFancy, an upmarket temporary McDonald’s store that launches at Fashion Weeks around the globe — London, New York, Paris, Milan, Sydney, Hong Kong.” ACCESS Agency

McFancy

“McFancy is part art installation, gathering spot and, of course, a restaurant that offers a traditional McDonald’s menu but packaged in a way that makes a playful yet stylish nod to the lifestyle of the highly desirable, influential consumers that attend Fashion Weeks.” ACCESS Agency

McFancy

“Waiters in tuxedos, silver service, private dining areas, and packaging co-created with the fashion brands that present at Fashion Week — Burberry burgers, Chanel fries on black packaging, Paul Smith Sundaes…A bit of fun among the serious business of fashion.” ACCESS Agency

Here’s a super cool installation for Audi that is finished with some ground breaking activation – love it!!

Audi - ACCESS Agency

“Audi, a brand exuding an attitude of self confidence and progressive thinking, and associated with the latest technology and innovative design, is a perfect brand to pioneer this entirely original ACCESS/TCH concept, a new breed of “billboard.” ACCESS Agency

Audi - ACCESS Agency

“It is a display of four life-size Audi cars, suspended inside the silver rings of a massive Audi symbol attached to an iconic bridge structure or in front of landmark spaces — the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Tower Bridge, Venice. The rings rotate around, light-up at night, and move up and down the bridge.” ACCESS Agency

Are you ready to buy an Audi yet?

Moving on we want to highlight one more amazing project by the ACCESS folks before moving on. When we think of LEGO, many of us are transported back to our youth but recently the legendary brand has really been trying to make a resurgence and here’s ACCESS Agency’s proposition:

LEGO - ACCESS Agency

“We envision building massive LEGO sculptures — creations so big that they cannot go unnoticed.” ACCESS Agency

LEGO - ACCESS Agency

“The shock value increases when these sculptures are placed in environments and contexts where no-one is expecting to see a big “toy.” ACCESS Agency

LEGO - ACCESS Agency

“A Darth Vader with his light saber waiting for you in the underground garage — perhaps to your favorite shopping centre, sports facility or night club. He will raise or lower his saber depending on how you behave. Incredible opportunities to add sound as well.” ACCESS Agency

OK so this next one is one of our favorite’s from 2012…

When you look at the ad below, what do you think it’s trying to promote?

Prive

Sunglasses right? Wrong – give it more more try..

Prive

Prive

This campaign of massive vinyl stickers hit the bathrooms of Beirut’s trendy spots to draw attention to Riviera Privé.

This ” the newest old destination in Beirut ” has been home to the world’s jetset since 1956 and last year’s sunglasses campaign certainly made this hotspot a lot hotter!!

And now something a little more recent and closer to my heart..

Want to open a fridge full of beer? Find a Canadian. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuRouLJ5H2U]

So the fine folks at Molson have made Canadians all over Europe very, very popular. As part of a clever online and TV ad campaign by agency Rethink Canada, fire-engine-red refrigerators full of Molson beer were strategically placed across a variety of European locations to attract crowds.

All you need to do is find a Canadian and it’s “Party Time”.. standard really 🙂

On that note, this Canadian is signing off. I hope some of these ads put a smile on your faces and feel free to write in with some of your fav’s too.

Glad we could get together 🙂
